Teacher / Demonstrator Of Cookery To All Ages

teacherAlthough Gilli has run cookery classes from her home for the past 25 years it was following her highly successful TV series, Tastes of Wales, that Gilli’s skills as a knowledgeable and entertaining cookery demonstrator were sought by companies such as Welsh Lamb Enterprize, the Yorkshire Regional Food Group and British Gas.

Gilli has worked regularly at the BBC Good Food Show and agricultural shows including The Royal Show and The Royal Welsh.

In 1996 Gilli ran a summer cookery school for children in Cardiff and following this success, she wrote a 10 day cookery manual to teach cookery to disadvantaged children in the Rhondda valley.  Over a period of 3 years Gilli ran cookery classes in south Wales teaching teenagers, young mothers, and a variety of disadvantaged groups.  This scheme called ‘Get Cooking in the Rhondda’ was subsequently taken over by the WI and the Food Standards Agency.  It continues to run in various parts of the country.

Today Gilli runs monthly cookery days in her spacious kitchen at home.  These are very successful and booking in advance is advisable.
